MG IS MAKING its return to Britain’s top-flight motorsport series with the new MG6 and Jason Plato.
The cars will be run by Triple Eight Engineering, one of the most successful constructors in the championship’s history having won seven of the last 11 championships, and will be driven by double champion Jason Plato and rising talent Andy Neate.
“It’s really exciting to be involved in a brand-new all-British team and it’s just brilliant that the iconic name of MG will be back on the track.” Said Plato.
MG Motor’s Sales & Marketing Director, Guy Jones said: “We are delighted that the new MG6 will be seen by millions of fans in Britain and beyond and this continues the famous sporting lineage of the brand.”
This will be the first time sonce 2008 that there has been an MG on the BTCC grid and the first time since 2003 that there will be an official MG team, after MG Sport & Racing handed over the running of the cars to the independent team West Surrey Racing.
