RENAULT HAS ANNOUNCED that its updated Twingo 133 will cost from £13.5k.
Renault’s much lauded baby hot hatch has recieved a raft of changes over the previous model. Most notably it now sports what will become the new Renault family face, with enlarged central Renault diamond badge, large headlights and wide grille design, while at the rear there is a new light cluster design which now straddles the bootlid.
Other visual changes unique to the 133 are flared wheelarches, rear diffuser, boot spoiler, 17″ alloys and a new F1 inspired ‘blade’ in the front bumper which is now a feature across the entire Renaultsport line-up. Standard equipment also now includes Bluetooth and cruise control.
Mechanically, the Twingo remains the same, with 132bhp 1.6 litre petrol engine which provides a 0-62mph time of 8.7 seconds. The popular Cup chassis is also still available and brings a lowered ride height, stiffer springs and dampers and wider tyres for £700.
Despite the performance remaining the same the Twingo 133 has improved efficiency compared to its predecessor, with a CO2 figure of just 150g/km and a new combined mpg figure of 43.5mpg, a reduction of 3.2% and an increase of 3% respectively.
The new Renaultsport Twingo 133 goes on sale in April from £13,565.
