ASTON MARTIN HAS unvelied the brand new, 565bhp, Vanquish.
Aston Martin has confirmed that its latest flagship model will see the return of the Vanquish name, last seen in 2007. The new Vanquish will be powered by a 6.0 litre V12 producing 565bhp and 457 lb/ft, making it Aston Martin’s second most powerful road car after the £1.2 million One-77.
The V12 is mated to a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox and can propel the Vanquish from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and on to to a top speed of 183mph.
The styling evolves the latest Aston Martin cues, with echoes of the DBS and Virage in particular. However, the Vanquish introduces new elements such as the new Aero Duct on the bootlid and the rear LED light blades.
Extensive use of carbon fibre means a 25% rigidity improvement. Useability has also been improved to include a more spacious cabin and a bigger boot which, at 368 litres, is 60% bigger than that of the DBS.
Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin’s chief executive officer, said, “Bearing the same name as the iconic original Vanquish that did so much to cement Aston Martin’s reputation as a maker of great GT cars in the modern era, I believe the car unveiled today once again puts this great British brand at the top of its class.”
Prices for the new Aston Martin Vanquish will start at £189,995 with the first cars expected to be delivered to customers later this year.
