ACCORDING TO AN Audi poll, nearly two thirds of soft-top owners in the UK never drive with their roof down.
A whopping 64% of convertible drivers who answered the poll stated that they either never or hardly ever put their roof down, with 46% stating that they bought their car because of the looks and the exotic cachet that an open-topped car brings, rather than for the ‘wind-in-the-hair’ driving experience.
Other statistics from the survey show that women are the most likely gender to drive with the roof down, while the most common age bracket for rooflessness is 25-34 year-olds.
Audi UK Director Martin Sander said, “Drivers in Britain like to know they can drop their roof, especially as the weather here is so changeable. But they also know that even with the roof up, a soft top car still looks out of the ordinary and highly desirable.”
