RENAULT HAS RELEASED a teaser image of its new Captur SUV.
The Captur is based on the same platform as the new Clio and features similar design features including the new Renault corporate ‘face’.
Rivaling the likes of the Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Mokka and MINI Countryman, the Captur will go on sale in the summer and will likely be priced accordingly. The engine line-up is expected to be similar to that of the Clio with a range of petrol and diesels available.
The early signs look good, but Renault will be hoping the Captur is better recieved than their last foray into the ‘soft-roader’ market with the Koleos (below), essentially a rebadged Samsung that was competent if unspectacular but found little favour with buyers.
The Renault Captur will be officially unveiled on Friday 11th January before making its public debut at the Geneva motorshow in March.
