LAND ROVER IS marking its 65th birthday by releasing this LXV Defender special edition.
Just 65 LXV Defenders will be sold in the UK, the standard version of which has notched-up over 2 million sales, and will be based on a 90 hard top. Power comes from the 120 bhp, 265 lb/ft 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Differantiating the LXV are 16-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels and Santorini Black paint with a Corris Grey roof and highlights. Inside, there are LXV embossed leather seats, unique orange stitching and LXV decals.
Another aspect of Land Rover’s 65th anniversary will be celebratory event at Packington Estate, the testing ground for the original 1940’s prototypes, with over 130 heritage Land Rovers attending.
Land Rover’s Global Brand Director, John Edwards, said, “It is in fact a dual celebration, as March saw Land Rover deliver the strongest ever monthly and quarterly sales performance in its history.”
