GRAND THEFT AUTO’S top supercar, the Bravado Banshee, has been recreated to celebrate the upcoming launch of GTA V.

Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar has teamed-up with West Coast Customs, best known for creating ‘tuned’ cars in TV show Pimp My Ride, to build a one-off Banshee in real life.

Grand Theft Auto has always been known for its homages to real cars, because no manufacturer wants to have its products in a game like GTA, and the fictional Banshee made by the fictional Bravado is no exception; aping not just the style of the Dodge Viper, but the driving characteristics as well. No prizes for guessing what the donor car was for this project!

State-of-the-art fabrication techniques were used in order to create molds for the body panels, ensuring a near perfect reconstruction of the on-screen counterpart. The interior was hand-made, including seat upholstery, dashboard and centre console layout and door inserts.

The Banshee has been a GTA supercar staple since the game franchise’s third installment, and will again feature in Grand Theft Auto V which is released on 17th September for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
