SKODA HAS UNVEILED the new MK3 Fabia, ahead of a 2015 launch.
Taking design cues from the bigger Rapid and Octavia, the 2015 Fabia has a much more angular and sportier look than previous generations thanks to sharp creases in the metalwork, and wider and lower overall dimensions.
Thanks to the introduction of the smaller Citigo, the Fabia has been allowed to grow slightly, gaining space both inside and out. But despite the slightly bigger size, Skoda claims the 2015 Fabia is 17% more efficient than the outgoing model.
Not many more details are known yet about this latest iteration of Skoda’s Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa rival, but it will almost certainly be built on the VW group’s new small car platform that will underpin future Polos, SEAT Ibizas and Audi A1s.
Skoda has also announced a customisation scheme which includes 15 exterior colour options as well as the chance to choose unique colours for the roof, wheels and wing mirrors.
Expect the 2015 Skoda Fabia MK3 to go on sale early next year priced slightly higher than the current model, with an estate and hot vRS models following later.
