Clarkson, Hammond and May sign Amazon Prime deal

Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond new show on Amazon Prime

FORMER TOP GEAR hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will make a new show for Amazon Prime in 2016.

Following having his contract “not renewed” by the BBC, there has been months of speculation as to where Jeremy Clarkson and fellow Top Gear presenters James May and Richard Hammond will go next. That speculation has now ended as an anouncement comes that they, along with former Top Gear producer Andy Wilman, will be making a new car show for video-on-demand service Amazon Prime.

No more details than that have been released yet, but the show will launch in 2016 and is a major coup for Amazon as it tries to catch and overtake Netflix, the undisputed king of streaming.

This is a potentially risky decision to move away from TV, but with the increasing popularity of streaming and on-demand video, it could prove shrewd in the future.
